What are proxy's, and why do I need them for yahoo! messenger?

I can't use my yahoo messenger because my proxy's aren't set. What is a proxy? What do I need to do to fix my messenger? I don't want to use yahoo beta messenger anymore. Can some one help me?

I would suggest you to first to open your browser and look to the connection. For IE it is Tools-Internet Options-Connections and then setting or Lan setting and see of there is any proxy set.


If it is set then you need to copy same things to your messenger (i do not use yahoo messenger but it will be there something under network connection or something like that).


However it is not clear how to help you because you did not provided more infos.


Are you connected through internet through proxy or not from yoru ISP?
