How to create my own Proxy?

I know what will probably be thrown my way now.


"Don't use a proxy at school/college/work concentrate on your job/studies ect. ect."


I know over 15,000 proxy servers if I wanted to get past a firewall I could do so very easily.


But ironically this actually *is* linked with my college course work.My I.T tutor himself encouraged us to discover how to do this...but not in so many words.





Anyway,I know the basics of how a proxy works but it's very hard to find any technical details/instructions on actually creating and running your own server.Can anyone either explain how you go about making a proxy,or point me to somewhere that explains this?

Take a look at Squid - that's one of the most widely used full-fledged proxy programs.


Also, check TinyProxy - it's more basic - more like a proof-of-concept thing.
Reply:search in google: "free proxy templates". know, enter 1 of the sites you would get, take the template you want and download it. now, in the config file you can change the proxy name, ads code etc. when you finish you can upload it to your server (it have to be a server does allow "proxy hosting", zelune.com/hosting would be good and cheap (I host there). after you upload you can start surf, enjoy!
