Can you Proxy yourself TO BE PRESENT, ONLY TO MEET QUORUM REQUIREMENTS OF A MEETING?

We are having our Condominium’s Annual Homeowners' Association Meeting. On the proxy form sent to everyone, the Condominium Association's Board of Directors has included a box to check. That according to the Board would allow a Homeowner to proxy him or herself TO BE PRESENT FOR QUORUM PURPOSES ONLY (NOT ASSIGNING MY VOTE TO ANYONE TO CAST FOR ME, JUST SO THEY WILL HAVE ENOUGH PEOPLE TO CONDUCT THE MEETING).

There is also a Box and a Place to write someone's name in; to have them vote for you in your absense.

But has anyone heard of proxying yourself to be present at a meeting to meet quorum requirements only?

I am going to challenge this I think, So if you could give me some idea of your credentials to answer this. I would hate to make a big deal about them not being able to do this, in front of the other owners(and neighbors), if in fact they can. Thanks

It's guaranteed to be unblocked as I made it yesterday! :)
Reply:Proxy can be allowed to vote if tolerated in the constitution and by-laws of the association and company.
