Using my comp. as proxy?

Is there anyway I can set my home windows based computer as a proxy so I can use it to surf the web from a distent location, such as a school computer or work computer?

Basically I just want to connect to my computer and use the internet off of it instead of using the firewalled/heavily blocked internet if the schools.

I have found some proxy servers that work online, but I want to use my home computer and set it up as a proxy? any way to do this?

Thanks for the help.

It's a working proxy
Reply:Yes, you can install a wide variety of proxy server software. Just google for "free proxy server software". Be aware, that in order to change th proxy settings for web browsers, you often must be an administrator.

Good luck!
Reply:You can do it, but it's kind of a pain in the neck. There are two ways of doing this that I know of:

1. Use Windows Remote Desktop if your operating systems on each computer are capable.

2. Use a third party remote support software application. I recommend UltraVNC (http://www.uvnc.com/). This requires a little more tinkering than Remote Desktop, but accomplishes generally the same thing. It's also cross-platform and FREE, which can be the most important thing.

Best of luck!
