Need a free proxy host!?

Anyone know a free internet host (or someone willing to host on their computer) who allows a proxy script.I need about 50mb of space and 2 gb of bandwidth a month,proxy is to be password protected,i have created the code already (mostly came from zelune proxy,with some modifications) I don't mind adverts on front page either,i just really need a good host!

Youtube proxy?

I found a youtube proxy, but when i go to play a video, it says 'Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Macromedia's Flash Player. Get the latest flash player.' but i have already downloaded a new version of Macromedia Flash Player. I cant really do a different proxy either because my computer has dumb parent blocks (safe eyes for Mac) and it blocks anything considered a "loophole." I'm using stupidcensorship.com and bravebadger.com right now. those are slow, but so far, its the only thing ive found that works. Help?

I need a really good, new proxy for school. And no, before you start, I'm not like the other millions of teenie boppers trying to get around the myspace block. However, my school does this really dumb thing where they block really good informing sites based on some obscure wording. So when you try to reasearch stuff for a paper and find a really good site, its blocked even though there is nothing wrong with it. So please, help me out. I'd like to do my research for my research paper at school so I can type it a home. And none of those dumb *** lectures about how wrong proxies are. Is Proxy legally allowed in Qatar????

I live in Qatar and a guy who lived beside my house (he is an computer engineer) told me we should not us eproxies in qatar . I am Feared i did not understand what he mean and next day he went to india. So pls help me i dont want to do hack or something i just want to use that Hide IP Platinum and i saw it uses proxy servers.. MIne is an ADSL Connection. Let me give some background info before answering your question. Some countries want to restrict your Internet access to certain sites. The restriction is to prevent their resident from accessing undesirable sites. They implement the restriction by having a FIREWALL. Any access to a site has to go through the Firewall, which check if the site is acceptable or not. If it is OK to access it will let you go through. As you could imagine, the firewall could also be used to monitor your access pattern.

One way to avoid the access restriction imposed by the firewall is to use a proxy. Any site access you make will appear to the firewall as an access to the proxy and therefore by using a proxy you are avoiding any site access restriction the country wants to impose. I would imagine that is why it could be illegal.

I know what will probably be thrown my way now.

"Don't use a proxy at school/college/work concentrate on your job/studies ect. ect."

I know over 15,000 proxy servers if I wanted to get past a firewall I could do so very easily.

But ironically this actually *is* linked with my college course work.My I.T tutor himself encouraged us to discover how to do this...but not in so many words.

Anyway,I know the basics of how a proxy works but it's very hard to find any technical details/instructions on actually creating and running your own server.Can anyone either explain how you go about making a proxy,or point me to somewhere that explains this?

Take a look at Squid - that's one of the most widely used full-fledged proxy programs.

Also, check TinyProxy - it's more basic - more like a proof-of-concept thing.
Reply:search in google: "free proxy templates". know, enter 1 of the sites you would get, take the template you want and download it. now, in the config file you can change the proxy name, ads code etc. when you finish you can upload it to your server (it have to be a server does allow "proxy hosting", zelune.com/hosting would be good and cheap (I host there). after you upload you can start surf, enjoy!

You could have picked a proxy that doesn't work well or has gone down, try another, usually I need to try 4 or 5

I am interested in establishing a proxy or network web filter for my home network, with custom error messages when a forbidden or unavailable website is accessed. I try to build internet server using Linux Freesco because Freesco provide NAT and firewall and also its easy to use/manage, but I stil have one difficulity, my internet connection is too slow from the client's computer. I'm using Visual Studio 2008 and we have a web browser we're developing that works great so far. Except for that fact that if there is a proxy in the way we are unable to go on through. So if I could somehow use the pre-existing proxy in IE options or even better set one up that you can manually adjust for the browser that would be greatly appreciated.

You could try looking through the Windows API calls to see if you can interface into the operating system's settings that way and thus use the internet settings that IE uses

this class is boring and i need the new proxysites..

schools have all the old one blocked. usually the ones with numbers they cannot pick up as easily as the ones without numbers. so if that helps any.

Reply:Your main problem is that every proxy people post on Yahoo is seen by every IT dept in every school and college. The IT guys watch for the questions and then simply block all the proxies you give out. It's not something you should do anyway and can get you in trouble at school. Why not wait till you get home.

Reply:Yea, my school has banned any website with the work "proxy" in. Therefore i use something totally different. Ever heard of a translation website, like babelfish.altavista.com? They can translate webpages for you and if you just translate the page from english to english then it still translates it! Yes, it doesn't automatically go to www.myspace.com or sumin, so heres the address ( remember it's NOT a proxy, but using it in this was makes it act like one )

Reply:I use Slicky Proxy http://www.SlickyProxy.com which bypasses the firewall at work. I can access MySpace and Facebook with no problem. It also encrypts and anonymizes my web traffic so I don't have to worry about eavesdropping.

They will give you an IP address so your URL won't contain the word "proxy" which is what most web admins filter on.

Are you trying to access the internet in such as a way to get to sites that your school won't let you go to? If so, that is a completely different kind of proxy. If you want that kind of proxy, a google search will help. If your internet is already working then you don't need a proxy. There are two different kinds of proxies more or less. The kind in the IE settings has to do with a specific server in your network that is the only way for you to get to the internet. The other kind of proxy, is a proxy that is where you go to a website that lets you access forbidden websites.

It may just be that there's a firewall on the wireless hardware and that is stopping any connections to your computer.

You need to contact the people that maintain the hardware and ask them to unblock your computer and help your forward ports.

No, you need an education.

Circumventing the blocks are probably in contravention of your school's/company's/usage policies and would not be a good idea, resulting in banning, suspension or expulsion. The fact that you have to ask how to do it leads me to believe that you do not have the technical skill to avoid being detected.

If you want to access stuff like YouTube or MySpace, be aware that the more bandwidth you are using, the more you are taking away from other legitimate users of that system.

The sites have probably been blocked for a very good reason. If you're accessing from a public space, i.e. school, library, college, or other public access point, you should ask the administrators why they have blocked those sites. Put your case as to why you should have access, but be prepared for a firm 'no'.

Reply:Your main problem is that every proxy people post on Yahoo is seen by every IT dept in every school and college. The IT guys watch for the questions and then simply block all the proxies you give out they also join all the mailing groups.. It's not something you should do anyway and can get you in trouble at school. Why not wait till you get home.

If you want to get new and up to date proxies everyday, then you should join a Yahoo group. I tried out a few, but this one has worked the best for me.
